Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses(Hakodate)

Retro red brick warehouses which line the harbor quayside.
This popular spot epitomizes Hakodate when it flourished as an international port.

The "Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses" in the bay-area are an example of one of Hakodate's tourist spots which exudes romantic charm. In addition to always being crowded with many tourists as it is a symbol of the place where the first port opened to international trade in Japan, it is also used as a location for dramas and films. The group of warehouses which were constructed more than 100 years ago have been completely revamped as tourist facilities but one section is still being actively used as a commercial warehouse.

Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses are open for business in 7 large buildings which are lined with restaurants and shops, the area is divided into three which are respectively themed as "Kanemori Yobutsu Kan", "Hakodate History Plaza" and "BAY Hakodate" Also the "Hakodate Christmas Fantasy" takes place in December, an event which lends color to the winter in Hakodate.
