A Michi-no-Eki to loiter at on the banks of the Chitose River.
There is a food court where you can savor such items as dried chum salmon ramen, prawn soup curry, "Donmono"(Japanese "rice bowl dish" consisting of fish, meat, vegetables or other ingredients served over rice) or rich soft serve ice cream made with 100% raw milk. There is also a buffet with carefully selected seasonal ingredients and a restaurant where one can taste firewood stove baked pizza.
The farmers' market where local farmers directly bring in agricultural produce is also popular.
There is also a kid's room and a clean and bright powder corner, it is possible to comfortably spend your break from driving here.
Besides the adjoining "Chitose Aquarium the birthplace of Salmon" which has one of Japan's largest freshwater fish tanks where it's possible to observe the ecology of salmon and freshwater fish from the northern territory, it has Japan`s first underwater observation zone which offers a direct insight under the waters of Chitose River.
In addition, when autumn arrives salmon capture can be done on the Indian water wheel, many tourist visit the aquarium starting with the local citizens who come to enjoy the scenery.
