The area surrounding Sapporo, Otaru and Noboribetsu(Central Hokkaido)

Kaze no Yakata (The Wind House)(Erimo)

From Cape Erimo, you will have an unbroken view of the beautiful Pacific Ocean scenery.
There is also a corner where you are able to experience wind strengths of 25m/s.

The winds blow on Cape Erimo with speeds in excess of 10 m/s for a period of more than 290 days a year.
Though it is one of the most scenic capes even within Hokkaido, it is also an area of strong winds.
The Kaze no Yakata (The Wind House) is a hands-on facility based on the theme of such a windy environment.
Since the facility has been set up in Hidaka Sanmyaku Erimo National Park, a feature is that it has been designed in a form which makes it appear as if it is hidden below ground, this is due to the scenery, the vegetation and the consideration of the brightness of the lighthouse.

Kaze no Yakata (The Wind House) has a unique construction which has a motif of being able to systematically create a swirling atmosphere called a "Kármán vortex"。
Without having to worry about strong winds in the building, if you enjoy the Pacific Ocean's beautiful scenery which spreads out before your eyes from the comfortable viewing benches, then definitely please come and experience the wind speeds of 25m/s at the "Erimo-style experience" corner.
