Nakafurano Municipal Lavender Garden(Nakafurano)

Savor the beauty of lavender and expansiveness of Hokkaido from a mountain top where a spectacular view awaits.

The Furano and Biei area are home to many lavender fields, which are often crowded with visitors during the summer season. Situated approximately 1 km away from the famous Farm Tomita, on the hillside of Mt. Hokuseiyama is the Nakafurano Choei Lavender Park. While the hill is used as a ski slope in the winter, the Park has adorned one side of the slope with flowers including a vast lavender field along with sage and marigold.

The mountain top is accessible by foot via stairs as well as by lifts operating during the summer season. A trip up the hill is a must to enjoy a walk with a view of the expansive fields. Not only can you see flowers and the Furano Valley below as well as catch a glimpse of the Tokachi Mountains afar, there is also a lavender field on the mountain top. This is a must-see destination for any itinerary.
